Former CMFEU boss John Setka has gotten a tattoo proving his commitment to the controversial union less than a month after allegations of corruption and bikie infiltration led to his early resignation.
In a photo and video posted to social media, Mr Setka gets the words “GOD FORGIVES THE CMFEU DOESN’T” tattooed across his neck.
The post was made by Classic Ink Tattoo in Victoria on Sunday night with the caption “Apprentice Rates”.
God forgives, the CFMEU doesn’t is a well-known catchphrase for the union and is often seen on their shirts, hoodies, and stickers.
Mr Setka stepped down from his role as Victorian secretary early after allegations of corruption, bribery and bullying in the construction arm of the union.
Mr Setka has denied those allegations.
The Victorian branch as well as the construction divisions in NSW, South Australia, and Tasmania have been placed in administration by the Australian Council of Trade Unions “until further notice”.
A Bill to crack down on the controversial CMFEU will also be introduced this week after the union failed to agree to the appointment of an administrator to clean it up.
New Workplace Relations Minister Murray Watt said the legislation would be designed to shut down any opportunities for the militant union to stall the administration process and said the Bill was targeting the CMFEU only.
