Core Cider’s Fire Fable & Feast
Tonight, 5pm, Core Cider, Pickering Brook
Celebrate winter with an event paying homage to the northern Italian traditions of Core Cider’s founder Giovanni-Battista Della Franca. In the dark of night, attendees will walk through the orchard to “awaken the trees” with chanting, drums, dance and song. The procession ends at a giant bonfire which, according to tradition, cleanses the orchard and prepares it for a bountiful harvest in the seasons ahead. There will also be live bands, roving artists, fire performances, medieval combat shows, drumming, forest faeries, snake-charming, wreath-making and storytelling.
Tickets $280, from corecider.com.au/fire-fable-feast/
