The independent-held seat of North Sydney would be abolished under a proposed redistribution of NSW electorates.
The proposal, released on Friday, means first-term MP Kylea Tink loses her seat after she won it from the Liberals as part of the wave of independent victories in the last election.
Voters in the electorate on Sydney’s north shore will be split between the neighbouring seats of Bennelong, Bradfield and Warringah.
The Australian Electoral Commission said 45 of the remaining 46 divisions would keep their existing names.
The final one – Scott Morrison’s old seat of Cook – will keep its name but have the definition expanded to honour former prime minister Joseph Cook as well as Captain James Cook.
“Under the proposal some significant changes would occur, with the boundaries of New South Wales divisions being amended to accommodate the decrease,” electoral commissioner Tom Rogers said.
