Yoga instructors, dog handlers and martial artists have been placed above tradies on the nation’s draft priority skills list for migrants.
A host of construction experts say the federal and state governments are falling short of housing targets, yet commonwealth department Jobs and Skills Australia reckons yogis and martial arts teachers will be on the ‘core skills occupations list.

Amid a dire housing shortage, painters, roof tilers, stonemasons and some other tradespeople missed the cut, being placed on a draft list requiring ‘more consultation’.
The Jobs and Skills Australia draft lists are open for consultation.
