A massive Chinese lithium miner and refiner now looks certain to qualify for a slice of taxpayer subsidies available to processors of critical minerals, after the Federal Government released its draft eligibility guidelines on Friday.
The Albanese Government is planning to make production tax credits available to foreign corporations “that are subject to Australian income tax throughout the relevant income year”, while stating foreign investment will be subject to the existing regulatory settings.
