My Lady Jane, Thursday, Amazon Prime
Bodice ripping is having a moment. The runaway success of the campy Regency-era hit Bridgerton has everyone whipping out their corsets and practising their curtsies.

The latest offering is from Amazon Prime, with My Lady Jane. The real Lady Jane Grey is something of a tragic historical figure. Queen of England for all of nine days before being turfed out of the gig by the Privy Council of England who suddenly switched their support to Jane’s sister Mary. Jane ended up being executed when she was around 17 years of age.
But, have you ever wondered what would have happened had history worked out a little differently? No? Well Amazon has. This alternative history series asks the question: What would Lady Jane Grey have done had she lived long enough to enter her #girlboss era? There promises to be lots of gen Z slang, sultry love interests and girl power feminism in a Tudor corset here. Fans of Bridgerton and The Great, take note.
The Bear, Thursday, Disney Plus

Also hitting our screens this week, the third season of The Bear. This is the show that turned Jeremy Allen White from “that-guy-from-Shameless” to a red carpet A-Lister and “that-guy-from-The-Bear-who-looks-like-a-hot-version-of-Gene-Wilder”. It is also the show that got us all walking around our kitchens screaming ‘Yes Chef!’ and ‘Behind!’ while shredding a supermarket cooked chook on top of our two minute noodles (or was that just me?). Fans of the show will no doubt be eager to catch up on where Carmy, Sydney and the gang are now. Is their burgeoning new restaurant a hit? Can Claire and Carmy work it out? Can Richie hold it together? Will Sydney give us another recipe like that season two omelette? (I made it — can confirm, very good). Will we be tuning in to see what the writers have cooked up this season? Yes Chef!
