Justin Timberlake has been arrested in Sag Harbor, New York, on DWI-related charges, Newsday reported. Sag Harbor Justice Court representatives confirmed the news to Vanity Fair.
Timberlake, 43, is due to be arraigned in the town’s court Tuesday. Sag Harbor authorities have not yet released the specific charges on which the singer was arrested, but did confirm to Newsday that they were related to driving under the influence.
Representatives for Timberlake did not immediately respond to Vanity Fair’s request for comment.
According to TMZ, Timberlake met friends for dinner at a hotel in Sag Harbor Monday evening, then was pulled over shortly after beginning to drive home for the night, around 12:30 a.m.
Timberlake is in the midst of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, with the next show scheduled for Friday in Chicago, and stops in New York City next week. The former ’NSync frontman released his latest solo album in March, and it has since seen anemic chart activity. In 2023, ex-girlfriend Britney Spears released her bombshell memoir, The Woman in Me, in which she shared anecdotes about Timberlake breaking up with her over text message, cheating on her, and saying he “didn’t want to be a father” when Spears became pregnant unexpectedly, leading to her get an abortion.
Timberlake did not respond formally to Spears’s memoir, but during a January concert, while introducing his 2002 song “Cry Me a River,” an essential piece of the Timberlake-Spears mythology, he declared, “I’d like to take this opportunity to apologize to absolutely fucking nobody.”
